LYME DISEASE;

Lyme Disease also known as Lyme borreliosis. It is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Borrelia Burgdorferi. 

Deer ticks can carry the bacteria that cause Lyme disease.

Lyme disease is caused by four main species of bacteria. BORRELIA BURGDORFERI AND BORRELIA MAYONII cause Lyme disease in the united states. 

How COVID and LYME are similar.?

Covid-19 and lyme patients can both present with mental symptoms.

Complex immune responses and symptoms are often induced by both covid and lyme

Both can present with few symptoms and can mimic other illness.

Both are global disease. lyme disease and COVID  have been found on every continent except Antarctia.

Both have multiple strains;

1] Borrelia has 52 known species 21 are known to cause lyme disease.

2] COVID -19 has mutated in to atleast 30 strains so far.

Both are Zoonotic disease.

Corona virus, COVID-19 and Lyme Disease are similar but there are some differences.?

lyme disease typically peak in the summer. i.e [month of june and july ]

 COVID-19 Patients can lose their sense of taste and smell.

COVID is more likely than lyme disease to cause breathing problems.

Lyme disease often causes a bull`s eye- like rash at  the site of tick bite.

As of may 2020, COVID receives approximately 4000% more federal funding for research than lyme disease.

Testing of lyme and COVID.?

Test can be used to confirm or exclude a diagnosis of LYME or COVID-19. 

For Lyme, testing involves measuring antibodies, which can take a few days or up to two weeks to develop after a tick bite.

Meanwhile, for COVID-19 there is the possibility of using  PCR polymerase chain reaction to detect the actual genetic material of the virus or testing of antibodies.

TREATMENT;

SO, knowing the difference is critical in between two disease of lyme and COVID-19. 

Most commonly cameron said'' adults and teens with lyme disease are treated with the antibiotic doxycycline, while those under age are given amoxicillin.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 treatments continue to evolve. the antiviral drug remdesivir has shown promising results in patients with moderate COVID-19.

well, lyme is extremely rare disease. and COVID we all aware in this pandemic situation. In this current situation we all have to protect with these kind of diseases.
